Mount Rainier in September
On a day like this one in September when the sky is clear blue and the weather warm, it is hard to not take a perfect photo of the majestic mountain that towers over the Purge Sound Region. It has been decades since I have made the drive to Paradise, and I realized that it has been way too long! The fields were painted with wildflowers, the gentle waterfalls glittered in the sun, and the glaciers were stark white against the blue skies.

Washington State International Kite Festival
The beach and the sky are both filled with the most colorful kites at the annual WA State International Kite Festival in Long Beach. This photo of a handful of the Revolution style kites as the fliers get ready to beat a world record with over 80 Revolution kites in the air flying in formation. It was the most spectacular sight!

Water Lillies
There are some absolutely beautiful gardens in Oregon near Eugene. Their ponds were full of blooming water lillies which reminded me of being at Monet's Garden outside of Paris. The garden looked just like the paintings he is so famous for.

Cherry Blossoms in Bloom at UW campus
The sight of the Cherry Blossom trees on the campus of the University of Washington is just breathtaking every April. The entire mall between the buildings was just soft and pink with the blossoms from the very old stately trees.

Standing on One Leg
I didn't even realize this seagull was standing on only one leg when I took the photo. I know that I practice balancing every morning on one leg and it can be a challenge. When I look at the stick this gull has for a leg and the size of his body in comparison, it appears to be quite a feat.
